I Am a Twilight Fan

Let me preface this with a small note. There are many reasons that people stop reading, or slow way down. One of the biggest reasons, in my opinion, is that we just get way too busy with family, life, school, and work. It always inspires me to read things like what you are about to read because it makes me remember a time when I used to love to read (I still do, it's just that life gets a bit hectic with the above mentioned). I am sure there are many people that Stephenie Meyer has inspired to get back into reading, or writing, for that matter. So, from all of us, Stephanie, we say thank you.

My name is Quy Thai. I'm only 15 years old, but Stephenie's Twilight Saga has really made me really grow up, even if i am more mature than the rest of my friends. I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; home of the maple leaf.

I am heartbroken that Stephenie has decided not to continue writing Midnight Sun and I know that I speak on behalf of young ladies everywhere that we are behind Stephenie every step of the way. Stephenie has been through worse but she always knew that her fans would want her to contiue on. Why this time it is different? I'm not sure myself, who really knows? I would like to believe that Stephenie is doing this because she thinks it's the right thing to do, but I can't stop hoping that she will one day, one day soon, decide to unhold the writing of Midnight Sun and put the love we, the fans, feel for the Twilight Saga back into our hearts.

Stephenie Meyer has put the love of reading back into the heart of millions everywhere. The desire to find books as extraordinary, heartfelt, warming, and touching as the Twilight Series is difficult if not impossible .

I am a Twilight Fan and I wouldn't want it to be any other way. My name is Quy Thai and I proudly support Stephenie Meyer.

A Glitch? A glitch, you say?

Yep. A glitch. Due to gmails effectiveness of filtering email, it appears that we have not been receiving everyones request to join the list. But, no worries. We will be paying closer attention to that folder in the future. Please accept our apologies to anyone who has submitted your name and we didn't post it. It should be there now.

Also, you may notice that the list on the side now shows only the most recent 25 names. That's because there is a direct link now to see the entire list in a separate window. All 1,211 of you so far. Thanks for all the support. I am sure SM is happy to know that we are behind her.

How Big a Twi-Hard Are You? Photo Contest

How Big a Twi-Hard are You? Photo Contest (with prizes)

smphotocontest@gmail.com

We will be accepting your photo submissions into the first part of October. We will then announce the top finalists in mid-October and post them for the SM fans to vote on. Fist place winner will receive a Support SM shirt. Runners up will receive other Support SM items (to be announced soon). Please keep the photo submissions to no more than a PG-13 level in accordance to the writing style of Stephenie Meyer.

Don't miss this chance to show us (and SM) how big a Twi-Hard you really are.

Total SM Supporters: 1121

Tonight the numbers have risen yet again. The total number of names on the list is now at a staggering 1, 121. Let's keep this stone rolling!

It's a Small World

I thought I would take a moment this morning and let you know of two supporters and where they are from. First, let me assure you that each and every one of the supporters we have are important. I would love to showcase each of you on the blog—really. But, there just isn't enough time. I will say that we have been flooded by support from the US, Canada, Central and South America, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia and so on.

In the past week or so there have been three people who have emailed in to be added to the list that caught my attention. I thought you would be interested in where they are from. First, Momina Saeed from Pakistan. Second, Sabrina Koppmann from Finland. Third, Lenette Breytenback from New Zealand. It really is a small world. Thank you, Stephenie, for writing such great stories that are not only full of emotion but can reach out and draw people in from all across the world.

We Support Stephenie Meyer—period.

With the news of the leak of Midnight Sun, there seems to have been a plethora of sites and blogs pop-up discussing the topic—some expressing concern over the leak while others want to throw their support behind SM in pressing forward and still having Midnight Sun published. This is great, it really is. But, would these sites even exist if MS had not been leaked? I doubt it. But, it was leaked—and like it or not. If SM decides not to publish MS now, or ever, we still need to support her in her decision. I can see this quickly spiraling out of control like it did with the fans of BD that weren't satisfied with the outcome of the book—and that's one thing I don't want to see happen. It is heart breaking that there is the possibility the we may never get to read a final, published copy of Midnight Sun, it really is—but, life will go on and I am sure that we have not heard the last from SM.

Let it be known that we support SM in all her decisions. This includes the decision not to publish Midnight Sun at this time—of course, we would love to see it published (honestly, who wouldn't?) but, if that doesn't happen, I am sure there will be other books that she will write. Don't forget the rumors of the continuation of the Twilight saga through the eyes of another character(s).

We support SM, in all her endeavors—period.

Heidi B. from Utah writes:

"I cried tears today when I read that Stephenie wasn't going to publish Midnight Sun. It was a very unexpected reaction. First I cried for me, then I cried for her because of her sadness at someone's illegal actions. The fact that today is my 2nd daughter's first day of Kindergarten and I'm practically nine months pregnant may have helped trigger my outburst too. I wish there was was some way to let Stephenie know how heartbroken we are for her as an author and for us as fans of the Twilight Saga."

Stephenie, we want you to know that while we may only feel a portion of your pain as far as BD goes, we are behind you with love and support 110%—if not more. Thanks for all you have given us, and for all you will give us in the future.

We did it!!

I am so excited that we made it to 1000 names! We wanted to start this website to show Stephenie Meyer that her fans not only love her books, but they love her. I have read and heard several comments that say the twilight saga has changed peoples lives. I think SM has given all of us a great escape into this fictional world and her writing is captivating. SM has said herself she knew she couldn't make everyone happy, but I don't think that gives a person the right to verbally hurt her or try to return the BD book, that is not acceptable!! I hope our website makes the world notice negative backlash will not be tolerated. Let's keep up the great work and let our names pour in and make SM notice she has loyal, happy and grateful fans.

Total SM Supporters: 1053

We gained another group of supporters today—bringing the total to 1053.

We Have Reached 1,000 Names on the List!

How about that. Just over a week later when this blog went live and we have reached our 1,000th name on the list. Congratulations go out to Tamra Jackson of Utah for being the 1,000th name on the list.

Thanks of course goes out to all of those who helped us get to this point. We couldn't have done it without you. Please don't stop spreading the word or think that someone else will. You are the means that drives this machine and spreads the word to both young and old that we support Team SM!

Total SM Supporters: 990

It's just about time to close up shop for the night—work comes early enough after a holiday weekend. But, I thought I'd update the numbers. We are 10 names away from 4 digits of support for Stephenie Meyer. Four digits. 10 names.

Total SM Supporters: 979

Can you believe that we only need 21 more names on the list and we've reached our first goal? This is really something else, but there's no way we're going to stop at 1,000. No way.

Worth Sharing...

Every once in a while someone will write a paragraph of support for SM along with submitting their name. This is not necessary, by any means, but when I got this in the email box, I had to share this with the rest of you.

Carrie, an avid SM fan from Arizona writes:

"I'm am an SM supporter through and through! Admittedly, I was confused with the final book. Even though I didn't fall instantly head-over-heels, I canNOT fault anyone for that! Stephenie Meyer is an amazing author. She has literally changed my life and helped me fall back in love with reading. That is a tough feat for someone like me who is very stubborn and hadn't picked up a book for leisure since grade school. I admire SM so much for her talents and abilities, and especially for her hard work and overall cool-ness. She stands up for what she believes in and doesn't let others sway her from her standards. Yes, I support Stephenie Meyer big time. If not for "The Host", I wouldn't have made it through some serious postpartum depression months ago (okay, maybe I would have, but it would have been much harder!)!"

Wow. All I can say is that I hope Stephenie gets a chance to read this an realize just how much she means to us.

Total SM Supporters: 919

The total count for SM supporters has risen to 919! Thanks so much for the support!

We are looking forward to another great week with you in supporting SM in her endeavors with all she is going through. Our heartfelt support goes out to her at this time with the unfortunate events that have taken place with Midnight Sun, but we hope that she will continue on, press forward and know that we are behind her all the way in whatever she chooses to do.

On a lighter note, I would personally like to say "Vielen Dank" to the rush of supporters that added their names to the Support SM list this past weekend from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxemburg. If there were an Olympic medal in Supporting SM, you guys would have taken gold this weekend for sure! It's nice to know that SM has supporters in almost every corner of the world.

Look for more great things to come in the next week and keep supporting SM.
