Total SM Supporters: 1297

Believe it or not, the names are still coming in... from all over the world! Thanks to all of the loyal fans and those that are just discovering the books through the movie or other means. Check this story out from one of the many SM supporters:

Megan Hadsell from Illinois writes:

"Hello! My name is Megan Hadsall and I am from a small town in Southern Illinois called Galatia. We have a population of around 2,000 people. I graduated from Galatia High School just last May and I am currently attending Southeastern Illinois College. During my senior year almost every girl in my class had read twilight aside from me. I was curious but hadn’t always been into the whole reading thing. Nicolas Sparks and C.S. Lewis were about the only authors whose books I had read. Almost a week after twilight came out in theaters I took my mom to see it, neither of us too interested although I was still very curious. We both LOVE it. After seeing the movie my mom had to grab a few things from a nearby wal-mart. Turning into the book section we saw Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse. We bought two of each on the spot. A few days later we had gone to another wal-mart just before going to my cousins’ baby shower. Walking down the isle I turned my head to the book section. Right out in the open was Breaking Dawn. My mom shrieked, not even kidding, and I reached out to grab two of them. These aren’t just books. They’re much more than just books. My mother and I have started a little two person book club. Every day we call one another and talk about nothing other than your books. We look at blogs and try to stay informed about what’s going on. We were definitely very upset when informed about the fifth book, Midnight Sun. We both think that it would be a most WONDERFUL idea to write the books in Edwards point of view. I have always wanted to know just what he was thinking the whole time and more about his past. I told you early in this letter that I wasn’t the biggest reader. That was until I read your books. I can’t seem to put them down. I carry them everywhere with me. I used to not take breaks at work but I do now just to have thirty minutes to get away. I take them to school, work, home, my mom’s house, and wherever else. When I read your books I feel unexplainable. You have hit every one of my emotions. While reading I have been mad, yelled “NO”, been sad, have cried, been happy, have laughed, been uncertain, struck with “butterflies”, felt loved, have been in love, and much more. You can’t even imagine the looks that people have given me. Can’t you see that we need you? Not only my mother and I, everyone, especially your fans. You have opened up a new world full of endless possibilities. You have turned at least one non-reader into a reader. I would be Very disappointed if you don’t publish any other books. I believe I speak for many others and not just myself. I can’t thank you enough for what you have done. If anything, you have mine and my mothers support all the way. GO STEPHENIE!"

Thanks again to all of you who support Stephenie Meyer.

Conflict of Interest... I Guess

I thought I'd write a quick note and let you all know why there are no more buttons offered on this blog—or pass onto you what was passed onto me.

Apparently, Summit Entertainment sent a letter to the zazzle.com team and threatened legal action against them if the buttons we not removed. Now, I don't know if this was just my stuff or Twilight stuff in general. I tried contacting zazzle, but all I got from them was an email saying that they were threatened with legal action due to copyright infringement from Summit and Stephenie Meyer, so they removed my buttons. I have not heard back from Summit Entertainment, and doubt that I will.

I still support Team SM, and I am still planning on distributing where I can. Just thought you ought to know what the deal was.

The Movie Rocks!!

This highly anticipated film was Great!! I am happy for Twilight fans around the world because we made Twilight a huge boxoffice success! Now they are going to film the sequel, yeah!!! I agree with SM's official website that most movies are not as good as the book, but This cast and crew did a really great job. Twilight fans should not be disappointed. Yes, some parts of the book that we love did not make it to the movie, but they can't make a 4 hour film(I wouldn't have minded, I could have watched more and more) Please Twilight fans lets still show our support and leave as many positive comments all over the web! Still pass the word along to sign our blog and we want SM to read our blog and know how much we SUPPORT her!

P.S. The soundtrack is No.1 and I recommend buying it, the music is really good!

It's Been a Long Time...

If it seems like forever since I have posted, it's probably cause I have been gone for the past week for work and a family vacation. It seems like forever ago that I left, but now I am back and ready to continue on with life.

While I was in Anaheim, Disneyland specific—in line to ride the Matterhorn ride with my daughter, I ran into a dedicated Stephenie Meyer fan. It really is a small world.

Anyways...

I Am a Twilight Fan

Let me preface this with a small note. There are many reasons that people stop reading, or slow way down. One of the biggest reasons, in my opinion, is that we just get way too busy with family, life, school, and work. It always inspires me to read things like what you are about to read because it makes me remember a time when I used to love to read (I still do, it's just that life gets a bit hectic with the above mentioned). I am sure there are many people that Stephenie Meyer has inspired to get back into reading, or writing, for that matter. So, from all of us, Stephanie, we say thank you.

My name is Quy Thai. I'm only 15 years old, but Stephenie's Twilight Saga has really made me really grow up, even if i am more mature than the rest of my friends. I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; home of the maple leaf.

I am heartbroken that Stephenie has decided not to continue writing Midnight Sun and I know that I speak on behalf of young ladies everywhere that we are behind Stephenie every step of the way. Stephenie has been through worse but she always knew that her fans would want her to contiue on. Why this time it is different? I'm not sure myself, who really knows? I would like to believe that Stephenie is doing this because she thinks it's the right thing to do, but I can't stop hoping that she will one day, one day soon, decide to unhold the writing of Midnight Sun and put the love we, the fans, feel for the Twilight Saga back into our hearts.

Stephenie Meyer has put the love of reading back into the heart of millions everywhere. The desire to find books as extraordinary, heartfelt, warming, and touching as the Twilight Series is difficult if not impossible .

I am a Twilight Fan and I wouldn't want it to be any other way. My name is Quy Thai and I proudly support Stephenie Meyer.

A Glitch? A glitch, you say?

Yep. A glitch. Due to gmails effectiveness of filtering email, it appears that we have not been receiving everyones request to join the list. But, no worries. We will be paying closer attention to that folder in the future. Please accept our apologies to anyone who has submitted your name and we didn't post it. It should be there now.

Also, you may notice that the list on the side now shows only the most recent 25 names. That's because there is a direct link now to see the entire list in a separate window. All 1,211 of you so far. Thanks for all the support. I am sure SM is happy to know that we are behind her.

How Big a Twi-Hard Are You? Photo Contest

How Big a Twi-Hard are You? Photo Contest (with prizes)

We want to know how Stephenie Meyer has influenced your life. Is your room totally Twilighted-out? Did you name your baby after a vampire or werewolf? Does your boyfriend wear body glitter to impress you? Please submit your photos with a brief description (no more than 200 words) of how SM has affected your life to:

smphotocontest@gmail.com

We will be accepting your photo submissions into the first part of October. We will then announce the top finalists in mid-October and post them for the SM fans to vote on. Fist place winner will receive a Support SM shirt. Runners up will receive other Support SM items (to be announced soon). Please keep the photo submissions to no more than a PG-13 level in accordance to the writing style of Stephenie Meyer.

Don't miss this chance to show us (and SM) how big a Twi-Hard you really are.

(Go on—what are you waiting for?)

Total SM Supporters: 1121

Tonight the numbers have risen yet again. The total number of names on the list is now at a staggering 1, 121. Let's keep this stone rolling!

It's a Small World

I thought I would take a moment this morning and let you know of two supporters and where they are from. First, let me assure you that each and every one of the supporters we have are important. I would love to showcase each of you on the blog—really. But, there just isn't enough time. I will say that we have been flooded by support from the US, Canada, Central and South America, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia and so on.

In the past week or so there have been three people who have emailed in to be added to the list that caught my attention. I thought you would be interested in where they are from. First, Momina Saeed from Pakistan. Second, Sabrina Koppmann from Finland. Third, Lenette Breytenback from New Zealand. It really is a small world. Thank you, Stephenie, for writing such great stories that are not only full of emotion but can reach out and draw people in from all across the world.

We Support Stephenie Meyer—period.

With the news of the leak of Midnight Sun, there seems to have been a plethora of sites and blogs pop-up discussing the topic—some expressing concern over the leak while others want to throw their support behind SM in pressing forward and still having Midnight Sun published. This is great, it really is. But, would these sites even exist if MS had not been leaked? I doubt it. But, it was leaked—and like it or not. If SM decides not to publish MS now, or ever, we still need to support her in her decision. I can see this quickly spiraling out of control like it did with the fans of BD that weren't satisfied with the outcome of the book—and that's one thing I don't want to see happen. It is heart breaking that there is the possibility the we may never get to read a final, published copy of Midnight Sun, it really is—but, life will go on and I am sure that we have not heard the last from SM.

Let it be known that we support SM in all her decisions. This includes the decision not to publish Midnight Sun at this time—of course, we would love to see it published (honestly, who wouldn't?) but, if that doesn't happen, I am sure there will be other books that she will write. Don't forget the rumors of the continuation of the Twilight saga through the eyes of another character(s).

We support SM, in all her endeavors—period.

Worth Sharing...

Heidi B. from Utah writes:

"I cried tears today when I read that Stephenie wasn't going to publish Midnight Sun. It was a very unexpected reaction. First I cried for me, then I cried for her because of her sadness at someone's illegal actions. The fact that today is my 2nd daughter's first day of Kindergarten and I'm practically nine months pregnant may have helped trigger my outburst too. I wish there was was some way to let Stephenie know how heartbroken we are for her as an author and for us as fans of the Twilight Saga."

Stephenie, we want you to know that while we may only feel a portion of your pain as far as BD goes, we are behind you with love and support 110%—if not more. Thanks for all you have given us, and for all you will give us in the future.

We did it!!

I am so excited that we made it to 1000 names! We wanted to start this website to show Stephenie Meyer that her fans not only love her books, but they love her. I have read and heard several comments that say the twilight saga has changed peoples lives. I think SM has given all of us a great escape into this fictional world and her writing is captivating. SM has said herself she knew she couldn't make everyone happy, but I don't think that gives a person the right to verbally hurt her or try to return the BD book, that is not acceptable!! I hope our website makes the world notice negative backlash will not be tolerated. Let's keep up the great work and let our names pour in and make SM notice she has loyal, happy and grateful fans.

Total SM Supporters: 1053

We gained another group of supporters today—bringing the total to 1053.

We Have Reached 1,000 Names on the List!

How about that. Just over a week later when this blog went live and we have reached our 1,000th name on the list. Congratulations go out to Tamra Jackson of Utah for being the 1,000th name on the list.

Thanks of course goes out to all of those who helped us get to this point. We couldn't have done it without you. Please don't stop spreading the word or think that someone else will. You are the means that drives this machine and spreads the word to both young and old that we support Team SM!

Total SM Supporters: 990

It's just about time to close up shop for the night—work comes early enough after a holiday weekend. But, I thought I'd update the numbers. We are 10 names away from 4 digits of support for Stephenie Meyer. Four digits. 10 names.

Total SM Supporters: 979

Can you believe that we only need 21 more names on the list and we've reached our first goal? This is really something else, but there's no way we're going to stop at 1,000. No way.

Worth Sharing...

Every once in a while someone will write a paragraph of support for SM along with submitting their name. This is not necessary, by any means, but when I got this in the email box, I had to share this with the rest of you.

Carrie, an avid SM fan from Arizona writes:

"I'm am an SM supporter through and through! Admittedly, I was confused with the final book. Even though I didn't fall instantly head-over-heels, I canNOT fault anyone for that! Stephenie Meyer is an amazing author. She has literally changed my life and helped me fall back in love with reading. That is a tough feat for someone like me who is very stubborn and hadn't picked up a book for leisure since grade school. I admire SM so much for her talents and abilities, and especially for her hard work and overall cool-ness. She stands up for what she believes in and doesn't let others sway her from her standards. Yes, I support Stephenie Meyer big time. If not for "The Host", I wouldn't have made it through some serious postpartum depression months ago (okay, maybe I would have, but it would have been much harder!)!"

Wow. All I can say is that I hope Stephenie gets a chance to read this an realize just how much she means to us.

Total SM Supporters: 919

The total count for SM supporters has risen to 919! Thanks so much for the support!

We are looking forward to another great week with you in supporting SM in her endeavors with all she is going through. Our heartfelt support goes out to her at this time with the unfortunate events that have taken place with Midnight Sun, but we hope that she will continue on, press forward and know that we are behind her all the way in whatever she chooses to do.

On a lighter note, I would personally like to say "Vielen Dank" to the rush of supporters that added their names to the Support SM list this past weekend from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxemburg. If there were an Olympic medal in Supporting SM, you guys would have taken gold this weekend for sure! It's nice to know that SM has supporters in almost every corner of the world.

Look for more great things to come in the next week and keep supporting SM.

Midnight Sun

I was saddened today when I read Stephenie Meyers blog on her official site: (www.stepheniemeyer.com) where I read her statement about the leak of "Midnight Sun" and how it has affected her, and the future of the book. My hopes of an expedient release of "Midnight Sun" have been dashed, as Stephenie says; "Midnight Sun has been put on hold indefinitely." What sad news for all her fans and all those who love Edward and Bella! She has a link on her site to read the pages of "Midnight Sun" that were leaked, but her version, not a version that is rapidly spreading through the Internet and that have been defiled or tainted. I have torn feelings about reading the excerpt she has posted. I have a strong desire to read Edward's version of events, but I don't want to read and wonder if the rest the book will ever be finished. My heart goes out to Stephenie for all that she has experienced because some people can't wait for, and others who want to ruin and discredit a good thing. I hope that Stephenie will someday soon, finish and publish "Midnight Sun", as I am anxiously awaiting it. In the meantime she says that she is working on other projects. Hopefully we will be privileged enough to experience those projects.

Now more than ever WE NEED TO SHOW STEPHENIE OUR SUPPORT!!! Please sign your name here to show your support, and link this blog to any Facebook, MySpace page, or blog you have. Send the link to your friends and family and let them know why YOU think it is important to show Stephenie our support! Our supporter numbers have been leaking in instead of flooding in, and we need every one's help!

Total SM Supporters: 862

There are now 862 SM supporters listed! Way to go!

Total SM Supporters: 833

It's almost midnight and the final count for tonight is a whopping 833 SM supporters. Keep them coming in!

A Challenge for SM Fans Worldwide

Sunday and Monday were crazy busy with the blog and the email address. Tuesday slowed down a bit and today the names are still coming in, but at a very slow trickle. With Breaking Dawn selling 1.3 million copies the first day, you'd think there would be more names coming in. I would like to propose a challenge to all of you who submitted your name to be added to the list, and to those of you who might be sitting on the fence—let's reach out and see if we can't plug this blog in all of the forums and other blogs we know in an effort to reach more of the SM fans that we know are out there.

A big thanks goes out to the Twilight Lexicon, Twilight Moms and all the others who posted the link on their sites and blogs—and a huge shout out goes to all 805 of the SM fans that have already submitted your names—both inside and outside of the US!

805 Supporters! (and counting)

WOW! This is incredible. With how fast our list is growing, I think we need to set a new goal, don't you? Let's see how big we can get the list to be. Keep emailing your friends and neighbors about the list and post it on as many sites as you can and lets see where it takes us. The sky is the limit nowadays, and with all the people from all over the world showing their support, we should be able to do it!

In case if some of you are wondering what I look like, here is a picture of me and Edward I made. :)

Thanks for the Support

Thank you to all who have added your names to this site. We have recieved an outpouring of support for Stephanie in just the few days this site has been up. Our main objective was to show Stephanie (hopefully she will visit us) that she has thousands of fans who love and support her. We hope that the few people out there that are not as "enthusiastic" about "Breaking Dawn" and Stephanie will not ruin it for the rest of us. I am especially grateful that SM has shared her talent with us and allowed us to visit her creative and imaginary world if only but for a short while. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have read the "Twilight Series" several times, and will continue to read it often. I can't wait for "Midnight Sun" to come out (hopefully soon)! I hope that the negativity from others will not hinder Stephanie's progress with writing. I look forward to much more from her! Stephanie, please know that we are waiting (trying patiently) for your next release, regardless if it is about Vampires, Aliens, or something in a whole different direction. Please know that you are loved, your devoted fans support you %110! Thank you for all you have given us so far!

Adjustments to List of Names

If you didn't see it on the left hand side, we have decided to shorten the list and only show the latest 250 names of loyal SM supporters. We are looking into a way to display all the names on a separate page and will keep you updated on the progress.

If you do not see your name anymore, don't worry! We still have everyone's name on file and they will appear on the new list when it is ready.

Thanks again for all the support and suggestions on spreading the word. We have now added a bumper sticker you can purchase in response to some of your emails.  Look for some custom desktop wallpaper soon that you can proudly display on your home or work computer showing your support for SM.

How Do I Get On The List?

If you would like to be added to our list of supporters, please email your Name and State you live in or outside the U.S., your country to supportstepheniemeyer@gmail.com

We are now over 500 names and growing fast, so hurry and add yourself to the list of supporters and pass it on.

Over 100 names on the list!

There are a total of 112 names of people on the list, showing their support for Stephenie Meyer. 112 names. In less than 24 hours. Wow. That's amazing.

We are pleased to announce that we are now offering a Support Team SM shirt. Click here to get yours! More designs and colors to follow!

More success! Much more...

I just added another dozen names to the Team SM list, and there are at least 15 more waiting in the queue. What an excellent show of support!

I will be adding the additional names later this afternoon or tonight—along with any others that come in.

Overnight sucess

Okay, so I woke up this morning and checked my email. Wow. There were 10 emails in support of SM. I have added their names to the list. Thanks for the support.

Saturday, August 23, 2008

We're up to 4 supporters...

Since the initial launch of this blog (less that 12 hours ago) we have added three more Team SM supporters to the ranks. I am anticipating more tomorrow and even more during the upcoming week.

Show your support by listing your name

If you would like to get on the list of people that support Stephenie Meyer, it's real easy. Simply email your first and last name along with the state you live in (or if you're outside the US, the country name will work) to supportstepheniemeyer@gmail.com and we'll add you to the list.

Let's show the world that while some of us belong to Team Edward and others belong to Team Jacob, we all belong to Team SM.

We support Stephenie Meyer

Okay, so here's the thing. I was approached by some fellow Twi-hards with some disturbing news—I know, I know, something disturbing in this day and age—it's almost unheard of.

"It has come to our attention that some people are upset by Stephenie Meyer's latest book, Breaking Dawn. People who didn't like the book are trying to return it. Just because something in Breaking Dawn didn't "go the way you thought it should" doesn't entitle you to anything except one thing, and that's your opinion. We do not think it gives you the right to demand a refund of the book, nor do we think it gives you the right to criticize Stephenie Meyer or her writing. Buck up, little campers and welcome to the real world.

We support Stephenie and are looking forward to Midnight Sun and hopefully a continuation of the Twilight series through they eyes of another character or characters. We would to gather as much support for Stephenie as we can through this blog. This won't be easy, but I think if we try, we can turn a few heads and get noticed. Thank you, Stephenie, for giving us Edward, Bella, Jacob and the rest."
